Tungabadhra Movie Review

Overall Rating : 2/5

Sai korapati has got a niche for the film making and is widely known for digging out the talents. After producing super hits like Eega, Legend and Oohalu Gusa Gusalade, he is bringing out a promising film, Tungabhadra with the new comers. Let us see how far it managed to keep up the image of Vaaraahi Chalanachithra.

Tungabhadra Story

The movie is a political drama laced around with a beautiful love story and lot of sentiments. As the title refers, the story is about reuniting to different sects of people. Tunga and Bhadra are two big rivers from different parts coming together to form Tungabhadra.
But we see people born and raised in the same place can't live in harmony. If rivers can meet, why not people. The film deals with this particular point and the plot is set at the backdrop of villages such as Tadikonda and Karlapudi near Guntur.

Performances

Adith Arun made his debut back in 2009 with a critically acclaimed film, Katha along side Genelia D souza. The film bombed at the box office and has failed to fetch any offers for him. But wait! what a come back, he has delivered a matured performance in Tungabhadra and has managed to prove his mettle.
Dimple Chopade, though has appeared in couple of films before, only this film has offered her to showcase her acting skills.Sathyaraj has become the backbone of the film and pulled it off with his natural self. Sapthagiri, Dhanaraj, Jabardasth Srinu and lot of other comedians struggled to fill in some laughs in an otherwise boring film.

Technical Aspects

Tungabhadra is directed by a new comer, Srinivas Krishna Gogineni. Though he has tried hard to portray the film as an intense political drama with a sensible love story, the screen play and the script he has written for it cheated on him. He was good in the execution part as a director.
The story gets too predictable in the second half and the routine scenes tests your patience. The forcible comedy in between the serious scenes spoiled the entire tempo of the film.
Music Director Hari Goura, another new bee on the block, was more than amazing with his work. He succeeded in maintaining the mood of the film with his acute music. But some of the song placements in the film comes as a bumps in the road. Camera work was commendable in the songs.

Overview

Tungabhadra is surely not a bad attempt but is in-fact a bad choice. The only question that runs in your mind while watching the film is, did producer Sai Korrapati lost his judgement skills?
