In an industry where multi-crore packages whirl around directors and heroes, who want to continue as writer for years? This is the unrevealed reason behind writers like Sampath Nandi, Anil Ravipudi and Koratala Siva turning to direction. In that process, the star of stars, writer Kona Venkat is also trying to end up as a director very soon.
Association between ace director Sreenu Vaitla and writers Kona Venkat, Gopi Mohan dates back to a long time. Though there is some animosity for a while, these three joined hands now to carve out a comedy thriller for Ram Charan. What happens to this union if Kona turns to direction? 'Kona Venkat should not become director anytime soon, because there is serious dearth of quality writers in Film Industry. What about directors like me who are dependent on him?', says Sreenu Vaitla. While speaking in a TV program, he made these comments.
While Kona just flashed a smile for this indirect-praise put on by Sreenu, their colleague Gopi Mohan snapped at it. 'At least Kona should not become director because many are dependent on him in industry', says Gopi, hinting that he will handle the mantle soon.
